I was surprised how much I missed him

With my new course starting next week,, I’ve been working really hard lately. So, the other night I ran out to pick up some dinner from my neighborhood deli.

As I approached the counter, I was stopped in my tracks.

There was a man standing in line in front me that from the back looked exactly like my father. His clothes, his hair, his stature – at least prior to him becoming so frail and emaciated – were all so familiar. I was frankly shocked when he turned around and it WASN’T him.

Of course, I was already aware that I missed him but it has stopped being quite so top of mind most of the time. With this being the second anniversary of his passing, I had already been contemplating how I would want to acknowledge it.

What I decided is that I do not wish to continue to mark the date of his passing. What I am committed to doing is to celebrating his LIFE. The fact that through me and my brother, Sonny Mayo (who is also doing a-maz-ing things in the world with www.RockToRecovery.org), his legacy lives on.

Celebrating my dad and all the amazing fathers that have touched our lives, I wanted to share with you a poem straight from my dad. I channeled this poem the morning of his memorial service on the summer solstice two years ago. It just came straight through me and felt like it was directly from him.

From my heart and his, to yours. Please use this day up fully…..

Use this day up fully

Here is your own copy of the poem if you’d like to print it out and keep it.

You may not know this about me

Depending on how long you have been in my community, you may or may not know that I actually used to be an award winning salesperson. I even had actual awards to prove it 😉

SP Sales Awards

In fact, most of my professional life I had been in sales in some capacity or other. The thing was I never considered myself a salesperson. Maybe that’s why I was so good at it – and I was good at it! I was in the top 10% of our sales force 10 out of the 11 years I worked at my last company.

Much to my surprise when I moved into my coaching and training business full-time, I could hardly sell a thing! Selling my own services turned out to be completely different than selling something tangible that people could touch and feel like the windows I sold previously.

I had excelled at selling every other product I’d ever tried to sell. What was the deal?!?! I had to figure this out – and fast – or I wasn’t going to make it very long in my business.

This is a something that I see happen all too often for service-based entrepreneurs. You have a huge heart and truly want to be over service but if you can’t sell your services then you can’t keep the lights on.

Worst case, you give up on your dream of making a living by making a difference. I mean if it was that hard for me even with a couple of decades of sales experience under my belt, I get what it must be like for you!

Luckily, I did figure it out and I have been teaching my “no-selling” sales techniques to my private clients for several years now. The good news is that this is not just about ME being a great sales person.

My clients have been able to duplicate the same great results for themselves that I got and are enjoying a 60-80% conversion rate on average!

Next Wednesday, June 10th, for the first time ever outside of my Inner Circle program, I am going to be sharing the shifts I personally made, the tools I discovered and the techniques I created that had me start selling my services more effectively, allowed me to nearly double my revenue each year for last four consecutive years (taking my business well into the multiple six figures) and ensured that I got to continuing making a difference in people’s lives.

During the Never “Sell” Again: How to Effortlessly Fill Your Business Without Ever Feeling Like You’re Selling complimentary training you will:

    • Understand why people aren’t buying what you are selling (or at least not as much as you’d like them too)
    • Discover the one shift you can make this minute that will change your entire experience of selling and can potentially double your sales immediately
    • Find out what people REALLY want to buy from you. This one might surprise you! Trust me, what they want to buy from you is WAY cooler than what you are offering right now
    • Learn what it ACTUALLY takes for someone to choose to work with you – and no, this is NOT the old worn-out “know, life and trust factor
    • Get the exact formula that I have used to nearly double my sales every year for the past four consecutive years taking my business well into multiple six-figures

Join me next, Wednesday, June 10th at 3pm Pacific, 4pm Mountain, 5pm Central, 6pm Eastern for Never “Sell” Again: How to Effortlessly Fill Your Business Without Ever Feeling Like You’re Selling.

Space is limited on this one and a third of them are already spoken for so reserve your spot now.  This one is not to be missed!

I threw a party and nobody came

This past weekend I held a yard sale to purge 20 years of history. Having sworn off yard sales ages ago, I usually donate at least several car loads full of items each year. So how is it that we still have so much “stuff?”

This time as I prepare for some big transitions in our family (more to come on this over the next few months), I figured I’d give the yard sale idea another go. After all, it had to come out of the house so I may as well let it take a break on the driveway for a couple of days to see if anyone else wants any of it before I parceled it out to various charities.

IMG_1714

Day one was nonstop busy with preparations and getting everything set up. Between loading everything out of the garage, reorganizing and cleaning what was left, there was plenty to keep me and my helpers busy. We even made a few bucks.

Day two was another story! It was like crickets. No customers, no company from my helpers, and no busy work to do. With the hard labor to “get ready” done, in theory all I had to do was wait for all the customers to show up, right?

It reminded me of the experience that many of my clients have when starting their business. There is the rush of the idea, the promise of possibility, and the busyness of preparation – and then crickets. It’s like throwing a party and no one shows up.

You’re thinking “I’m here. I’m ready. I’ve got great stuff to offer…… So, where is everyone?!?!” Unless you have clients not only do you not have a business but you aren’t able to share your gifts and you aren’t making the difference you were meant to. You start to think “Maybe what I have to offer isn’t that great after all….”

Stop right there! You have an amazing gift to give the world. You know it and I know it. But the number one obstacle that has many well-meaning, gifted entrepreneurs throw in the towel is having to sell their services.

Next week, I am hosting a complimentary training to share my proven techniques on how to offer your services and fill your business to FULL without ever feeling like you are selling. This the same exact formula that I used to double my business every single year for the past four years.

Whether you are a brand new entrepreneur filling your business for the first time or a veteran who is just tired of having to work to keep your business full, this call is for you. Join me on Wednesday, June 10th for Never “Sell” Again: How to Fill your Business Without Ever Feeling Like You’re Selling”  and you will learn:

*What it actually takes for someone to choose to work with you

*The one shift you can make that could double your sales instantly

*How to make powerful invitations that inspire your ideal clients to take action

Space is limited on this one so reserve your spot now. See you there!

We’ve been going about it all wrong

Lately I’ve been thinking a lot about what success really means. Of course, there are the obvious things like money, accomplishment and possessions…… but if you are like me, you may have achieved what the world thinks of as success only to be left with the feeling of “is this all there is?”

What is it we are really after when we say we want success?

I believe that a true experience of success is not about how much money you have, what you own or what you have accomplished. After all, how many of us have “been there; done that” and still feel empty?

It takes something more to bring us an actual experience of success which I refer to as fulfillment. And there is absolutely nothing external that can ever “fill you up.”

It is the “intangibles” much more than the “tangibles” that have us feel successful. After all, what good is all the money in the world if you have broken relationships? if you don’t feel deserving of it? if you are really wanting something more?

Regardless of your current level of outward success, it is the inner experience of yourself- including your mindset, your emotions, your actions and your connection to source – that will allow to truly attain success.

Elena Zanfei and I recently had a lively, thought-provoking and inspiring conversation around this very topic for her Rewire For Success Summit: Tap into the Power of your Authentic Self  , where Elena is sharing our conversation, as well as conversations with 23 other experts, on this very subject.

Ronda Wada Invitation

In these conversations you’ll hear our discoveries, realizations and clarity that we were able to achieve through our own inner-work. We are going to teach you techniques and strategies that helped us overcome frustration, doubt, and lack of direction, and that allowed us to up-level our thinking, shift to the next-level and put us on the ‘right’ path to clarity, success and ultimately fulfillment.

If you need a breakthrough in your life, feel stuck, unsuccessful, frustrated, or simply unfulfilled in life, this event will help you regain clarity, get motivated and help you shift your mindset towards real success.

I hope that you’ll take this opportunity to join me  and learn about the latest mindset shifting techniques that will bring you back to who you really are and guide you toward your dreams!

Where you start is not where you’ll finish

Where you start is not where you’ll finish. Now at first glance that seems obvious doesn’t it?

After all, the starting line is where you start. The finish line is where you finish. And they are never in the same place, right?

In fact sometimes there is A LOT of distance between the two. The distance may be measured in time, in results, in revenue, in satisfaction, evolution of your message, in personal growth or in all of the above! All can be found in that space between “start” and “finish.”

Let’s take for example the distance between where I started in my own transformational entrepreneur journey and where I am today. By the calendar, in just two short weeks it  will be six years since I left my previous employment and went full time in my business. My income started out at next to nothing and thankfully has grown to far surpass my income as an employee which was already in the top six percent of the country.

When I started out I was facilitating emotional authenticity workshops for teenagers but quickly found that teenagers didn’t really have a problem – their parents had a problem with them 😉 So, I moved into coaching teens and parents which evolved into helping moms get out of overwhelm. Then once they were out of overwhelm, they wanted to have more meaning and purpose in there lives – enter Divine Navigation!

My point in sharing all this is that when I started, I had no idea where the finish line would actually be. I had no idea that I would not still be working with teens. I had no idea what lay ahead for me in the discovery of Divine Navigation. I had no idea that the work would take on a life of it’s own and grow far beyond me through the Divine Navigation Coaches. And how could I?

If I had decided where the finish line was, I could have actually limited what was possible and what has happened in the last six years.

I had no idea what was in store for me and you have no idea what’s really in store for you. But when you allow Divine Navigation to guide you, when you allow yourself to follow the breadcrumbs, hold on with an open hand and heart, live in alignment with your Divine Coordinates® and keep moving, I promise it will be far better than what you can actually believe is possible.

Between start and finish will lay many surprises, challenges, opportunities and obstacles. I can’t guarantee it will all be easy but I can guarantee that where you start is not where you will finish. And thank goodness for that!

Letting go of the past

Last week was my sixth anniversary. Six years since I left my job as a full-time employee. Sometimes, it’s even hard to believe that was me and that life was mine.

I’m still in touch with some of the special souls that I used to work with including my direct supervisor, Penny. She and I opened the entire Colorado region for the company together. I still remember the day they hired me and THEN called her and told her they’d just hired her first territory manager for Colorado… and oh, by the way, how did she feel about moving to Colorado?

I even manage to drop into the office from time to time and I’m always greeted with an ecstatic “are you coming back?!?!” My answer is always the same……. Thank you and no. I am where I am meant to be.

Recently I came across my nearly dozen award plaques for all the years (all but 2002, the year following 9-11) I made “The Million Dollar Club” by reaching a million dollars in sales in the year (and by the end doubling that!).

SP Sales Awards

Starting out bringing a product into a completely virgin territory where no one had even heard of us and growing it from zero to twenty million a year in less than ten short years was a major accomplishment in itself. Being a young woman (I was under 30 when I started) doing all that in a very male dominate industry surprised everyone – including me.

Of course, I was filled with pride for all that the awards represented. They didn’t just represent the achievement of the sales goals or the recognition they were meant to convey but they were also a reminder of everything that I experienced both personally and professionally during that decade plus. Starting out as a married mom of two young kids and ending as a twice divorced single mom of teenagers and everything you can image happened between those two points.

I had an amazing eleven years at Sierra Pacific. Those were ten of the most impactful and formative years of my life. But that is all in the past. The person I was when I started work there in 1998 and the person was when I left were very different people. And the person I am today is almost unrecognizable in comparison.

I no longer need to carry around 15 pounds of wooden plaques to prove to myself where I’ve come from and what I can accomplish. It is my life and how I live it today that matters. So, I took this photo as a momento and threw them out. Yep, you read that right. Straight into the trash they went.

In order to move forward powerfully into the next phases of my life, I don’t need to carry around weight from the past in any form – physically, emotionally or spiritually. So I am lightening my load!

Yesterday is gone so let them go.

What is it time for you to let go of so that you can move forward powerfully in your life?

Don’t wait. Whatever it is, do it now!

Am I worthy of love?

Am I worthy of love? A but if a controversial question isn’ it? Let’s be honest, we’ve all had that thought….

Of course you are! Every human being on this planet is inherently worthy of love. But what I have found is that all the love and support in the world can be right in front of you, literally surrounding you and you still might not see it or more importantly FEEL it.

So how DO we recognize it? feel it? be worthy of it?

The key indicator may not be what you think it is……

You see, we can only give the love we have mastered receiving. And the receiving I’m referring to might surprise you. It’s not about receiving from another. It’s receiving from yourself and receiving yourself. I’m talking about self-love.

Self-love is one of those concepts we toss about pretty commonly. A concept that sounds good in theory but without practical application can leave you befuddled.

Luckily, my dear friend, Natalie Saxe, has searched far and wide to bring you practical tools and techniques you can apply immediately in your life to up your level self-love and happiness!

Your fresh start

There is nothing like a fresh start. Especially an intentional one!

A fresh start might be a complete overhaul of one area (or more!) of your life or it might be as simple as cleaning out that closet that you’ve been tolerating.

Everyday things like a blank sheet of paper on which to create can hold as much possibility as a grandiose scheme to change the world. Size does not matter with fresh starts!

The New Year is a natural place to make a fresh start.

All fresh starts include leaving something behind to move beyond where you are. Sometimes what is meant to be left behind is extremely apparent. Other times, it can be  much more difficult to see what it is that is really keeping you from moving forward into that fresh start that you crave.

This is where the art of reflection comes in. I refer to it as an art because it takes skill and practice yet when mastered produces the most beautiful results in your life. Reflection is foundational in any type of fresh start.

For your New Year’s fresh start, begin with a compassionately honest reflection of 2014. Not just the year itself but also of yourself and how you showed up during the year. What did you promise yourself you would achieve this year?

Where could you have shown up more courageously, more lovingly, or more authentically? This is not about beating yourself up though! Remember, reflection not evaluation.

The next step in your New Year’s fresh start is Release. Let’s face it. 2014 is over. It’s done. There is no getting it back. There is no use in “would’a, could’a, should’a.”  So be totally honest with yourself and then let it go! It’s time to move on. I know; I know. It’s not always as easy as that but this is where your next step comes in.

The final step in your New Year’s fresh start is to Recommit. Now that you have Reflected on your past year, and Released what might have been or what no longer serves, it’s time to identify what you are moving toward. If we don’t fill that space you made through the first two steps, then the old default mode of operation will just slip right back in there and take over once again.

Who are you going to show up as in 2015? What is it that you are committed to creating with this gift of the new year that you are being given? At this time next year, what do you want to discover when you once again Reflect on the year that is coming to a close?

You can still get the “3 Things you MUST do before the end of 2014 if you want to create Intentional Success in the New Year” , complimentary training I held this week I personally walked through this powerful three step process. The same process that I use myself as part of my own annual New Year’s rituals and ceremonies.

During this completely complimentary training you will also discover:

    • What 2014 was really all about for you
    • How to optimize your lessons from 2014
    • What you must do to complete with 2014
    • The gifts that 2014 gave you to propel you forward in 2015
    • How to move powerfully into the New Year and beyond!

This is the one time of year that I really peel back the curtain on how I create Intentional Success in both my business and my personal life. I will also be sharing some of my most sacred rituals and ceremonies with you that I don’t share in any of my other paid programs. This is a once a year, not to be missed event! And it’s yours for free.

Here’s to your Intentional Success in the New Year!

3 things you MUST do before the end of 2014

Ever wondered why so many of our holiday celebrations are packed into late December? There is a very real reason for that!

There is a tangible shift in energy that we can feel, consciously or unconsciously as we approach the threshold of the new year.

This has been true even before our modern method of tracking time, the Gregorian calendar was introduced in 1582 by Pope Gregory XIII.

January, which marks the start of our calendar year, is itself named for Janus, the Roman god with two faces. One face looks to the past and one looks to the future.

There is an innate wisdom in this symbolism.

It hints at our natural desire to acknowledge and appreciate our lives and all that we have and to do it with tradition while honoring of our loved ones and ancestors. These are at the foundation of all of the religious and non-religious celebrations that are sprinkled through out December and represent Janus’ face looking to the past.

As we move into the New Year, there is also an innate desire to reflect on the past year and what we want to take into the future and what we will leave behind. This is the face of Janus that looks to the future.

The Romans would begin each year making promises to Janus and this is where the tradition of the New Year’s resolution began. But, let’s face it. New Year’s Resolutions just don’t work!

So, want  to create more of what you want in the New Year?

Each year hold it’s own unique energy, opportunities, and challenges and 2015 is no exception! When you learn how to take advantage of these energies, you have the ability to fast track your way to success and go around many of the obstacles that may have otherwise hindered your path.

Find out 3 Things you MUST do before the end of 2014 if you want to create Intentional Success in the New Year” during my annual complimentary event dedicated to showing you how to create Intentional Success in the New Year.

I will also be sharing with you some of my most sacred rituals and ceremonies that I don’t share in any of my other programs. This is a once a year, not to be missed event!

Here’s to your Intentional Success in the New Year!

The land of infinite possibilities

This time of year is extremely special to me but perhaps not for the reasons one might think.

Beyond the glitz of all the presents and the glimmer of the holiday lights something more calls me.

As the year comes to a close there is natural sense of completion. For better or worse, the end is near. This is the perfect time to reflect on the year and what I really did (or didn’t do) with it.

  • Did I have the experience I wanted to of myself in in 2014? Did I honestly make the most of it?
  • What did I promised yourself I would accomplish or achieve? And how did I do on those promises?
  • Did I show up as the person I wanted to and am meant to be? Or did I play smaller than I could have?

Just around the corner is the New Year, 2015. The land of infinite possibility. At least that what the New Year always feels like to me!

  • What hopes and dreams do I have for 2015? What is it I most want to experience?
  • What I am I committing to accomplish? What will it take to achieve that?
  • How do I want to feel this time next year when it is once again time to reflect?

Join me at this threshold of old and new where everything that you desire exists.

Creating the life you want is not about resolving to stop or start a certain behavior; it’s not about forcing yourself into a box you think you should fit in and it’s not about designing lofty unrealistic goals that you don’t really believe you can ever have.

It’s about being fully present, available and honest not only with what you really want but also what it really yours to have and do.

You may not be able to have anything you want but I promise you can have everything that is meant for you!

Over the years I have created a very special rituals and ceremonies for myself to successfully bid farewell to the ending year and welcome in the new one and I’d love to share this sacred time with you.

Get the audio download of my annual complimentary training held on December 29th, Intentional Success in the New Year where I will share with you my personal rituals and ceremonies to bid farewell to 2014 to create Intentional Success in the New Year!
